PROBLEM STATEMENT:

Need of this project is security of girls hostels, any one can go in hostel .So to restrict entry in girls hostel this project came into picture.

OBJECTIVE:

  • Restricted access to people
  • Security

OVERVIEW:

In this project we have made door locking system using fingerprint sensor and solenoid. Those who have enrolled their ID with system only those people will get access to unlock the door.

COMPONENT REQUIRED:

  • Fingerprint Sensor: Adafruit fingerprint sensor is used in this project which can take up to 2000 valid fingerprint images.
Image result for adafruit fingerprint sensor
  • Solenoid: It is a electromechanical device can be controlled by 12 V dc supply.
Image result for door lock solenoid
  • 16×2 LCD display:LCD is an electronic display module .It can display 16 characters per line and there are 2 such lines.
Image result for lcd display
  • Enclosure: To prevent electric shock and protect contents from the environment.

WORKING:

There are basically two requirements for using the optical fingerprint sensor. First is you’ll need to enroll fingerprints – that means assigning ID #’s to each print so you can query them later. Once you’ve enrolled all your prints, you can easily ‘search’ the sensor, asking it to identify which ID (if any) is currently being photographed.

Fingerprint sensor is interfaced with arduino uno and solenoid is used for door locking and unlocking purpose.
