VOLUME OF GREY WATER –
- Total no. of student= 60
- Total water consumption per student per day for hostel = 28 liters
- Total water consumption = 60 × 28 = 1680 liters i.e 2000 liters
By using natural slope, we decided to construct two greywater filter:
- Primary filter
- Secondary filter
Calculation:
Dimension of 1st filter:-
- Length = 5m
- Width = 1m
- Height = 0.4 m
Volume of 1st filter= 5×1×0.4 = 2 cubic meter
Dimension of 2nd filter:-
- Length = 5m
- Width = 1m
- Height = 0.8m
Volume of 2nd filter = 5×1×0.8 = 4 cubic meter
Dimension of storage tank:
- Length = 3m
- Width = 1m
- Height = 1 m
Volume of storage tank = 3×1×1= 3 cubic meter
