Biofloc Technology of Fish Farming Technology:
Introduction:
Biofloc Technology
Biofloc Technology is an alternative fish farming system where recycling and reuse of waste nutrients as fish food is employed Before starting the project we cleaned the tank and outside area of tank then filled the tank with the water.
Advantages of biofloc technology
- Biofloc system reduce water utilization and waste generation
- Biofloc technology may significant reduce the quantity of water used a main resources in aquaculture.

After filling that with water, we measured it’s diameter, radius and height of the water in that tank. Then find the Volume of the water.
Calculation of volume of water in circular tank :
Measurements we take by measuring tape we take average height value due to slope was not same.
h1= 0.56m , h2=0.62m, h3 = 0.67m, h4= 0.64m, h5= 0.65m
Average height (H) =
H=(h1+h2+h3+h4+ h5)/5
(0.56+0.62.0.67+0.64+0.65)/5 = 3.145/5
H= 0.62
H= 0.62 D= 3.8, r= D/2 = 1.9m
V= πr2H
= 3.14×1.9×1.9×0.62
= 7m3
V= 7×1000
V= 7000 liter ( converted in liter)
We had calculated jaggery for Biofloc project we take 1 kg jaggery for 1000 liter water, so total volume of water was 7000L and 7 kg jaggery was needed.

We added 7 kg jaggery in 7000L water and it completely dissolved in water. Add 1 liter of culture in tank. We added bubbler in the water because of bubbler provide oxygen to fishes. Added three bubbler in the Biofloc. To check the system of bubbler. Then we checked the TDS of the water by TDS of water by TDS meter. The TDS is 176.

Today we measured the weight of the all fishes and calculated the all fishes. These 106 fishes transferred into the large tank. We started system of Biofloc and checked system properly.
Calculation:
Total no. of fishes = 106
Weight of fishes ( 106) = 9.869 kg
Weight of fishes measured by weighing Machine
After putting all the fishes in tank we checked the machine is running out.
