Assignment 1 :

Auto gate control : ( Collaborative work with Chaitanya Lokhande )

Problem understanding : The Vigyan Ashram main gate was manually controlling. The mechanism generally used is lever based with weight at one end. When the driver has to pass through the gate, he needs to come out of the car, open the gate and after entering the campus he has to come out of the car and close the gate again. This was a very time-consuming process and requires a lot of effort & really uncomfortable and annoying situation.

Task :

  1. To functionalize the main gate of Vigyan Ashram, which was operated manually.
  2. To operate the gate using Forward and Reverse toggle switch.
  3. To provide automatic operation of the gate using google assistant of android phone. This allows only authorized person to enter the campus.
  4. To provide a better asthetic look to the gate.

To use reverse forward switch for controlling the gate semi-automatically.

The major components includes:

  1. Single phase induction motor
  2. Capacitor (100 µ F)
  3. Change Over Switch

OUTPUT:

  1. The gate started operating semi-automatically by using change over switch.

LIMITATIONS:

  1. Driver needs to come out of the car for the operation.
  2. No limit switches included for providing limit to the gate.
  3. For opening of gate chain was used which used to stuck on the shaft and gate didn’t open.
  4. Motor covering box was creating lot of noise.

Assignment 2 :

Incinerator Smoke leakage error :

Existing Incentrator project : Incineration is a thermal waste treatment process that involves the combustion of organic substances contained in waste materials. Incineration of waste materials converts the waste into ash, flue gas and heat.

Problem Identified :

  1. Removal of leakages from the door of the present incinerator.
  2. Removing the baffles of the incinerator to allow the smoke to pass through the chimney unrestrictedly.

Task :

  • Removal of leakages of the door of an incinerator by installing gaskets on the door.

After installing gasket on the door, the leakage problem well stop at some extend. But due to heating, it effect on the gaskets which tends to removed from door.

  • Removal of inner baffles to avoid restrictions for smoke to pass through the chimney.
