A trial on the Silage machine was conducted on 30th November 2019. The following are the details of the trial.
The trial was taken with Sorghum (Jowar) as the crop. The crop was cut into 1/2 inch long pieces, a liquid solution of jaggery, urea, salt was prepared. ( For 100kg crop: jaggery- 2kg, Urea-200gm, Salt-100gm,Water-2 to 3 litre)
The bag was only partially filled since it’s diameter was bigger than the tank diameter, hence the empty space was filled manually. The bag weighed 35.5kg when completely filled.
Performance of the machine:
The machine worked satisfactorily except at the end when the pipe which works as lever yielded at a point where it was welded to another part of the machine.
