Along with protein extraction, the oil from BSF larvae has potential uses in biodiesel production, cosmetics, and as a nutrient supplement for poultry and aquaculture. This project focuses on extracting and purifying oil from BSF larvae using a distillation process to make it more usable and valuable
Background
BSF farming is gaining popularity as an eco-friendly way to manage organic waste. The larvae feed on organic waste and convert it into protein and fat. While many projects focus on protein extraction, BSF larva oil is often underutilized or sold without proper processing. Distillation can help improve the purity, shelf life, and quality of the oil, making it suitable for multiple industries. This project builds on the concept of sustainable waste management and resource utilization.

Larva मधून तेल वेगळ करण्याची पद्धत Hexane वापरून..
1) 1 किलो Larva 10 लिटर Hexane Filtration मध्ये दोन दिवस भिजत ठेवले.
2) दुसऱ्या दिवशी खाली फिल्टर होऊन आलेलं hexane परत वरती टाकावे असे 5 ते 6 वेळा करावे.
3) त्यानंतर त्यातील 10g hexane घेतले ते ड्राय केले त्यातून आपल्याला 1% ऑइल भेटल.
4) त्यातून hexane बाजूला केले आणि oil बाजूला केलं.
5) त्यानंतर Oil Distillation चालू केलं फिल्टर होऊन खाली आलेलं 1लिटर hexane घेतले.

2) 1लिटर hexane मधून 16.51gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 910ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.
B) 1 लिटर hexane + Oil
1) 1लिटर hexane Distillation ला लावले नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 1लिटर hexane मधून 17.50gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 910ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.

1) 1लिटर hexane Distillation ला लावले नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 1लिटर hexane मधून 16.60gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 800ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.
D) 1 लिटर hexane + Oil
1) 1लिटर hexane Distillation ला लावले नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 1लिटर hexane मधून 16.71gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 900ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.
E) 1 लिटर hexane + Oil
1) 1लिटर hexane Distillation ला लावले नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 1लिटर hexane मधून 19.30gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 890ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.

F) 400ml hexane + Oil
1) 1लिटर hexane Distillation ला लावले 10 मिनिट नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 400ml hexane मधून 8.10ml इतके oil भेटले.
3)त्यामधून 310ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.
G) 900ml hexane + Oil
1) 900ml hexane Distillation ला लावले 1 मिनिट नंतर hexane सेप्रेट झाले व oil सेप्रेट झाले.
2) 900ml hexane मधून 14.71gm इतके oil भेटले.
3) त्यामधून 800ml hexane रिकव्हर झाले.
Over All Hexane Recovery : 5.730 Litre
