Aim :- In Subsurface irrigation system reduce the loss of water by evaporation.

Objective :- 1) To give the water whole bed with wick system.

2) To put red spinach and amaranthus in the bed.

A) Large bed :- 1) b1× l1× h1 = 40×370×20

Area = 14800 cm2

Volume = 318200 cm3

B) Small bed :- 1) b2×l2×h2 = 40×308×20

Area = 12,320 cm2

Volume = 246400cm3

A) Large bed – Amaranthus ( राजगिरा )

15( crop) – 56ml/crop/day

840ml/bed/day

B) Small bed :- Red spinach ( लाल माठ )

1m2 = 100×100 = 10000cm2/600=16.6 or 20

20 ( crop) – 85ml/crop/day

1,700ml/bed/day

Total Water Required in main line :-

= 1700ml + 840ml

= 2540ml

= 2 litre 540ml

Flow rate ( Wick) = 5mm ( 5ml/hr )

– Sow the seeds of amaranthus.

Since , Red spinach seeds were not available, amaranth seeds were sown in both the beds.

Later it started raining so we couldn’t do any further activity.
