Why Collect dust on evacuated tube collector?
(13/02/2022)
PROBLEM : Effect of dust on the ability to heat water.
1) A = Solar water heater on Meditation hall (13/02/2022)
We know ,
Wt. of filter paper 1= P1=2.78gm
Wt. of filter paper 1 with dust = 4.51gm
Wt. of dust on 10 pipes of A= 4.51 – P1 = 4.51 – 2.78 = 1.73gm
Therefore,
Wt. of dust on A solar water heater = (1.73*32) / 10 =5.53gm
2) B = Solar water heater on Boys hostel (14/02/2022)
We know
Wt. of filter paper 2= P2 = 2.98gm
Wt. of filter paper 2 with dust = 3.93gm
Wt. of dust on 5 pipes of B = 3.93 – P2 = 3.93 – 2.89 = 1.04
Therefore,
Wt. of dust on B solar water heater = (1.04*32) / 5 = 6.65gm
3) C =Solar water heater on DBRT boys hostel (16/02/2022)
Wt. of filter paper 3=P3=1.31gm
Wt. of filter paper 3 with dust =2.16gm
Wt. of dust on 5 pipes C = 2.16 – P3 =2.16 – 1.31 = 0.85gm
Therefore,
Wt. of dust on C solar water heater = (0.85*32) / 5 = 5.44gm
4) D = Solar water heater in Technopark (17/02/20227)
we know,
Wt. of filter paper 4=P4=1.33gm
Wt. of filter paper 4 with dust=2.31gm
Wt. of dust on 5 pipes of D= 2.32 – P4 = 2.31 – 1.33 = 0.98gm
Therefore,
Wt. of dust on D solar water heater = (0.98*32) / 5 = 6.27gm
RESULT:
Your solar water heater will perform optimally if it is cleaned regularly. When a dust accumulates on solar collector their efficiency reduced very speedily as temperature increases due to decreasing of the solar irradiation that absorbed by the solar collector.
