My first assignment at Vigyan Ashram was to fabricate single cots using old two storey cots for the newly built hostel.
Dismantling old cots
Old two storey cots had to be dismantled first. I used hand cutter to cut the two storey cot into two single cots and then removed the metal sheets using hand cutter.
After dismantling the cot completely,I cut the legs of the cot to equal length using power cutter.Before welding I used hand grinder to grind previously welded spots to make the surface even.
Welding
The main task in this project was welding the legs of the cot. I
used CO2 welding machine to weld legs and frame of the cot.
Painting
The cots were later painted using spray painting.
