Window Grill

12/11/2024

Got this as welding assignment. I was asked to make a grill for window in the Vigyan Ashram. I took the measurements of the window first. Then I made a solidworks model of It and then did the Assembly of it.

13/11/2024

Did the cuttiong and grinding operation of the square bars required for grill.

16/11/2024 – 18/11/2024

I did bending of the square bars for the grill. It took me 3 days to do bending of all the square bars. There were total of 12 square bars i.e 5 horizontal and 7 vertical. It took me long time to perform bending because I didn’t knew how to do bending and even if I was able to bend it was not bending accurately according to the dimensions. So for that I took guidence of Jadhav sir. I bended vertical bars at a distance of 5.5 cm from both ends and bended horizontal bars 4.7 cm from both ends.

23/11/2024

Today I went to bring the flat patti with siddhant as I required it for making the frame of the grill. After I brought that I cut that into four pieces. Length of two pieces was 108 cm and the length of other two was 142 cm.

24/11/2024

For making the frame for the grill first I made a cut of 45 degrees on both ends of all four pieces of flat patti that I cut. By making that cuts will allow to make a frame of rextangular shape. First I made mark with the pencil on each end of the patti and then used hand grinder to cut.

After I gave 45 degrees cut at both ends of all the flat pattis I welded them in rectangular shape to make the frame. The welding type I used was Arc welding.

25/11/2024

After welding operation was done I did the grinding operation at all the corners of the frame.

26/11/2024

I did the welding operation of grill. Welded the square bars on the frame but before that I made holes on each side of the frame for fitting it on the wall. I made 3 holes on each side of the frame of diameter 8 mm.

First I welded the horizontal bars and then the verticals bars on top of that. After that I gave welding spots at each of the intersection point of vertical and horizontal bars. In this way welding of grill was completed.

29/11/2024

Did grinding of the grill.

In this way my Grill Assignment was completed.
