1) Leaf Infections in Vegetable Farming & need of Image Processing :

Maharashtra contributes 6% of production of vegetables in the country. The existing system the farmers are using for the detection of diseases in the plants is that- they could be identified through the naked eye and there knowledge about plant disease. For doing so, on large number of plants is time consuming, difficult and accuracy is not good. Consulting experts is of great cost & Vegetable leafy  diseases are one of major threat for yield & productivity losses for farmer, & their rapid identification remains difficult. The most of farmer unable to detect leafy infection by their naked eyes & the spread of infections increases to (30 – 50)% in the identification period by farmer.

Abhinav Farmers club has been doing well organic farming of vegetables mainly Ladyfinger, Fenugreek, red amaranth, Spinach, Tomato, Cauliflower, Cabbage, green chilli, Bell Pepper etc.
