INTRODUCTION

A chilli dome dryer is a type of solar dryer designed to effectively dry chillies and other agricultural products using solar energy.

Features of chiili dome dryer:

1)Maximizes sunlight absorption and enhances airflow.

2)Utilizes greenhouse effect to increase temperature inside the dryer, speeding up the drying process.

3)Ensures proper air circulation to remove moisture and prevent mold growth.

4)allows even drying of chillies by spreading them on multiple layers.

5)Protects chillies from dust, rain and pests.

Prasad Sir assigned us a project to create a scaled-down model of an existing chilli dome dryer using a 3D printer. The existing dryer measured 4 meters, and we scaled it down to 50 centimeters.

We calculated the scaling factor by dividing 4 meters by 0.5 meters. The scaling factor was 8.

We attempted to design the model using SolidWorks software.

Prasad Sir instructed us to each select one component of the dryer to scale down and design using software. I got the piller part of the dryer.

We visited the Fab Lab to gather information about 3D printing and laser cutting.

1)3D printer:

A 3D printer is a machine that draws objects layer by layer using Thermoplastic Filament. First, we have to create a 3D model using software like solidworks,.The printer reads this digital design the printer melts filament and make thin layers , slowly builds the object. Once all layers are done, the object cools down and get hard.

2)Laser cutter:

A laser cutter uses laser to cut the material precisely. First, we have to create a digital design using computer software. The machine reads the design and prepares to cut, a laser moves over the material and the material gets cut.
