Disuse with the Dixt sir about the heat pump and which problems are to solve in that project we have attached the heat exchanger for converting cool air into normal air, also removing the heaters which are used entirely for the heat pump. And we have to work on the airflow circulation of the heat pump.

Today in this morning, I was finding the solution for the heat exchanger and I found out how to design the heat exchanger by using books on heat exchangers (HE) taking some help from Google, I found some results that got some standard formulas for heat transfer calculation using the procedures we can find the formula.

With some information, I found out how to design the HE, And how to select the type of HE by this, we select the shell tube HE because it can work in winter and also sustainably and the efficiency of this is high.

for the design of the heat exchanger, we have to maintain the temperature of outlet air at about 30-35 degrees

It means that from an inlet or from compressed air the temperature was about 2-3 degrees which will increase in the pipe by flowing about 10-15 degrees and that temperature was to convert into 30-35 degrees

Detailed study of shell tube heat exchanger.

A shell and tube heat exchanger is a widely used thermal device designed for efficient heat transfer between two fluids. It consists of a bundle of tubes enclosed in a shell. One fluid flows inside the tubes (tube-side), while the other flows around the tubes (shell-side). This arrangement allows for efficient heat exchange due to a large surface area and counter-current flow. Shell and tube heat exchangers are commonly employed in various industrial applications, such as HVAC systems, power plants, and chemical processes, to facilitate heat transfer and maintain optimal operating temperatures.

Design the reducer for the airflow pipe in which we have to reduce 12cm dia to 2cm dia. By using Solidworks software first making CAD design it was given to the 3D printer.

Fixing the heat exchanger with a heat pump it takes one day to dry and fix completely with the inlet pipe.

For the data collection, we perform the experiment as follows.

  1. Fill the outer shell which is a plastic pipe with hot water at a temperature of about 58 degrees.
  2. Start the system and measure the initial temperature of the air inlet which is 18 degrees.
  3. After 10 minutes the temperature of the water in the shell goes down up to 38 degrees.
  4. And air outlet temperature increases up to 29 degree Celsius.

So, the results of the experiment are as excepted. Hot air exchanges into cold air.

Readings find on the set-up were by circulating the hot water into a shell in this set-up we use induction for heating purposes.

Because of the dropping temperature of the water constant heat exchange is not possible so, We have to circulate the water inside the shell. Because of that, we create the circulation of hot water with the help of a submersible pump. We use a steel container for heating the water with the help of induction and place a pump inside it.

Readings of the experiment are as follows.

Trial of the heat exchanger, we took another trial with the constant water supply and maintained the temperature of the container at about 68-72 degrees.
